Truly Tickled Blue

My hardworking hubby got off work early on Friday. No you did not misread that. Early. Even in spite of the fact he was delayed by a little tornado warning.

We had high hopes for the weekend, like going to the train stop storytelling festival on Saturday with the whole family.

It seems the weather again missed the memo.

We didn't get to hear any stories after all, though "Noah's Ark" would have been pretty appropriate. This reminds me that only in a house with a two year old can you hear, "Mommy, look! Noah's wife is going peepee in the potty" without thinking anything strange. We should know since just the other day Hope mixed the "Little People" ark set with the one that includes a doll house.

But back to our weekend.

In true not-gonna-rain-on-our-parade fashion, we had our picnic anyway.

Hit up the playground anyhow.

At least got to look at some trains anychoo.

In fact, we skipped every one's naps and stayed out the whole rest of the day. The only tears came as we were neared home around 8:00 pm. We thought it couldn't get any better than that. Then we remembered.

Someone's about to get a surprise! Excuse me, Hope-- a "SU-PWIZE!"

We tallied up all the chip-in donations and e-mails while O-V-E-R-W-H-E-L-M-E-D by the generosity of your hearts. For a family you've never even met. For a little boy on a distant continent that you may never get to meet on this side of Heaven.

That's why two little pajama clad girls are tickled BLUE to announce...

(Remember this is the family's first little BOY!)

Congratulations to Jen from Va.! A Honeybaked Ham certificate is coming your way and just in time for our visit in June-- is this fate or what?! Just kidding... enjoy!

If only we owned some honeybaked stock right about now. Since we don't, please accept a tremendous thank-you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who participated.

Oh, and the grand total we get to give Pavel's family for his homecoming?

FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!

Now we can be more precise. It truly doesn't get any better than that.

With Love,

Joe, Katrina, Hope and Maddie

Wow, five hundred dollars! Way to go! I never win anything, but then again I'm not the real winner here. Little Pavel and his adopting family are the true winners. I hope they are able to bring their little boy home soon.

God continues to amaze us as well Katrina, and it puts tears of joy in my eyes as I write this because we received some of His unexpected goodness in the mail today. Our Lord is bringing the desire of our heart to a reality too: a home! I applied for a full time job this week at church, although I am Extremely grateful and amazed at God's provision of the current part-time job I have, I am fully expectant of His lead IF this new job is for Me. He is SO GOOD! I loved reading the update and the progress, HALLELUJAH! And what wonderful friends you and Joe are to raise the awareness of the need. That gets credit too!
