Where have we been? Well, a much needed change in scenery lead us to PopPop and Nana's house in the mountains of western North Carolina where I grew up. Now we're back home and back on our own feeling much stronger in mind and body for the trip.
We spent the majority of our time laying low so I could get back my strength (especially since right upon return we had doctor's visits and Joe leaving to go out of town... he'll be back any minute now- YAY!) Even still we had some eventful times while hibernating, especially in the world of a 19 month old! From meeting cows and horses, to "new" toys and coloring books, to a first encounter with a real life "motorcycle-vroom" Hope had a lot to smile about (except when she was into ALL their little treaures and cabinets around the house at 90 mph and only wanted to sleep at night if in my old room snuggled up in the bed preferably next to Nana-- oh, toddlers!). :)
Hey, it was pretty cool in the world of a six week old too... when Nana took Hope to get a new dolly they came back with this set. Hope kept saying "Maddie! Maddie!" in the store while picking them out... trying to share with her sister?! Now your challenge is to see if you can actually find Maddie below- LOL!
We apologize to all of the people we WISH we could have seen, but trust us we are planning a fun, feeling f-i-n-e trip before too long! Thankfully toward the end of the week, when I was feeling MUCH better and Daddy (woo-hoo!) joined us, a few unsuspecting people just popped by and we were able to visit with some of our family and friends dying to finally see both the girls. We especially want to say thank-you to my aunts, several pictured below, who have joined together in prayer for us most evenings since my fall even though ALL of them have undergone surgeries themselves in the last two months! Also to people like Diane Reed who go above and beyond in their generosity so very often. Wish too that I had been more faithful with the camera, but here are just a few of the people we were glad to see this time around.
Coming home to a surprised cleaning of our house thanks to Natasha made it all the better (We're telling you if this friend ever met our dearly MISSED Va. Beach friend Tara, it would be ON with their servant's hearts!!) We hope the next visit to those mountains comes with an absolutely full recovery, more beautiful faces, and our favorite time of the year when God goes wild with His paintbrush on all the trees!
